the planet has a fever
STEVE MARAIS
coming [ feb 2027 ]
“Prana is in panic, we need to vibrate higher”
THE PLANET HAS A FEVER is a self-published zine in four parts, photographed throughout the record-breaking European heatwaves of summer 2026. Each part can be collected separately, and together all four bind into one complete volume.
Shot mainly in Paris, with additional frames from all over Europe, the work began with an open casting call, the artist accepting every respondent who answered. It marks Marais’s first engagement with ecological collapse, extending a practice built on queer togetherness, bodily freedom, and unguarded connection into new territory.
Eroticising a disaster courts a specific risk: that the crisis becomes set-dressing, rather than the work being genuinely in service of it. Skin is the stand-in for ecological collapse: the intention both sincere (bodies as the only honest response to catastrophe) and opportunistic (climate as pretext). Heat is used in a literal sense: bodies under stress, made vulnerable. The crisis won’t be solved by the systems that caused it, only by a different relationship to each other and to the natural world: touch, presence, unguarded connection between strangers.
[ LAUNCHING FEB 2027 ]

Heavy FERAL MAGAZINE
Volume 1 [ 2024 ]
“The Opposite Of Domestication”
Heavy Feral Magazine is a limited edition print publication of only 500 copies, numbered by hand. It explores the lives and stories of extraordinary queers, and those who consider themselves queer adjacent, whatever that means. Independently designed and published, the magazine is an aesthetic nod to the traditional fag-rag genre. With its straight forward imagery, alongside candid long-format conversations with hand picked collaborators, Feral offers commentary on the gay life across six continents in the 2020s so far.
Two cover options
Premium MUNKEN paper / Limited edition collector’s item / 180 pages of cock, ass, tits, pits, and whatever else leaks / 18+ adult content (NSFW, unless you really hate your job) / Full frontal, full everything / Fluid bodies and body fluids / Sweet and salty—everything tastes better in print / Elegant design / Feral content
